WHY MATT SMITH!?
Eva green is amazing and the story is amazing and the film looks great! but why ruin ti with matt smith?! I'm sorry but he can't act :/

To be honest this wasn't the right story for his first film. Maybe Dave Tennant could have suited this role.
shareI don't think Tennant would have worked for the role. While Smiths performance may not have been award winning, he did a solid job, plus most of the focus was on Green's character anyways.
shareIt is definitely your opinion that Matt Smith is a worthless piece of trash-- because I (as a human being with equal rights)-- say he is my favorite actor of all time. I think he's spectacular, beautiful, and he was the only reason I watched this movie in the first place. I think they cast him because he had chemistry with Eva. I think they cast him because he has a unique look. I think they cast him because he has a very interesting boy/man thing going on (or at least he did hen he was filming this about 3 years ago) -- He was great in this movie and he was great in Christopher and his Kind and Party Animals and of course--he is by FAR the best of the new Doctors on Doctor Who. This is, of course, my opinion, but-- you know-- I have to defend him because I really adore him.
Just had to be said.

I like Tennant, I find him versatile & very good as an actor but isn't he too old to play someone Green's age?
He doesn't look as young as he did in Doctor Who anymore.
