The worst Rambo movie ever? Could have been the best.

This film could have been like Gran Torino or something, had it gone for more subtlety and a more nuanced plot. Instead we get a superhero Rambo, seemingly even more capable than when he was much younger. Had they factored in his age and made him more frail, you'd have more drama there and raised stakes. Wouldn't that engage the viewer more? And that shallow plot, "Now they went for his niece, big mistake!" LOL, it sounds like a trailer for a Jack Slater sequel in The Last Action Hero.

Stallone and Schwarzenegger should have teamed up their Rambo and Dutch characters and fought ALIEN xenomorphs in the jungle in a Contra movie... 35 years ago.

Except for First Blood Rambo never behaves like a Special Forces soldier who aren't supposed to be all about standing their ground and waging pitched battles against the enemy the way he has done in every film. The part where he gets caught trying to scan the brothel is unlikely as well.

Then we get the big finale where he gets them to chase him all the way back to his house and we get the Rambo bloodfest where he does use some special tactics but again Special Forces would never have to go that far to get the job done which would have always been about rescuing the captive.

Rambo isn't Gran Torino.

Last Blood was much better than Rambo (2008). Better story. The climax with the Home Alone style traps soundtracked to Five To One was ingenious.
