Is anyone still feeling really down about the finale?

Lol pathetic I know. I am still feeling down. I don't think I've ever felt sad about a tv, movie, or book series before. I genuinely can't even go back and watch it knowing how it ends. It's just too sad.

I was a little annoyed that Morgana got no redemption. She was shown as a good natured and heroic character in the first two seasons. Even after getting derailed into a pantomime villain in S3 she still showed love for Morgause, Aithusa and Mordred. I wish this season could have showed her getting redeemed somehow. Granted she still would have had to die but writing her as the big bad villain that just had to be killed felt too contrived to me

I cannot believe that they would cancel such a wonderful series! I actually looked forward to watching Merlin every week, as it took myself & my problems away for a short while. Merlin goes far back into the history books. I wish SyFy would continue this wonderful series. But instead they replace it with some other boring & aggressive program. Merlin set our minds free and to wonder about the magic about the myth of Camelot and its connection with Merlin. I really wish they would reconsider in continuing this beautiful series. Im not sure if I can even watch the last 5 episodes. They even prolonged it to the month of May! How nuts is that! All in all, I am deeply saddened by the ending of this wonderful series.

Come on, it was a great final.
They stayed somewhat true to the story of Arthur’s fate.
Yes, I will remember the final as sad, but also as i final I will remember for a long time.
And they did not drag this serie out till it was ruined, they made 5 good seasons and stop while the going was good.

I've actually been depressed. I wasn't angry with the ending but saddened by it for so many reasons. I felt bad for Merlin who must feel like he failed in his mission. He also lost his best friend. Their relationship was one of my favorite things about the show. My heart also broke for Gwen who lost the love of her life. But I think this is a testament to the quality of writing and acting on this show. I felt truly connected to these characters and I can't believe there will no longer be any episodes to look forward to in the future. It was a great five years and I really enjoyed their take on the Merlin/Arthur mythos

It's been a while since the finale aired now, and I'm still sick about it. My Merlin DVD's are collecting dust because I can't bring myself to watch them. I can't imagine how furious the cast is. They spent so much time on this show, and it was wasted.

Hi

The only way many of us can deal is to literally act to bring it back.. a movie, a mini series, something... so come and join us at with the worldwide More Merlin Project: http://www.moremerlin.com

I would love to see a re-write and/or redo of the Merlin finale, but I'm afraid it would have to happen without Colin Morgan and that's not something I'd be into at all.

In a recent article in the Daily Telegraph, Colin was quoted as saying "Merlin was 5 years of my life. I enjoyed every year, every day. I had a brilliant time on it. But I'd be lying if I said I wanted to do more of it."

I think even with a great script, Colin doesn't want to go backwards and re-telling the ending/continuing Merlin would be seen as such by him. He's on to other things, great things with more to come. So while I so wish I could see more Merlin and get a satisfactory ending to the five years I put into watching the show, I have to support Colin here. If he ain't interested, I ain't asking for it.

"I wouldn't say I'm superstitious, maybe just a little bit stitious"

This is why no tv show should last more than 5 seasons. After season 5, the cast is ready to move on. Anything after season 5 usually sucks because they aren't motivated like they used to be.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who was disappointed in the ending of this series. I was expecting to see Arthur and Merlin bring magic and peace back to Camelot, and after all that traveling to the lake for Arthur to be healed, it seemed almost anti-climactic that he dies. I don't think I've been this disappointed in a series ending since Firefly.
