I'm so glad this show has the balls to make a mockery of woke culture

I've never seen another show to date that had the balls to do it on this scale. Sure you have family guy, the Simpsons, South park etc but those are all legacy shows that have been grandfathered into our culture.

This is s ugh a refreshing spin on current events because all of the woke references are there, and they don't care of representing it as the joke that it is.

Like the blm burger stand, the LGBTaco stand, when deep references for his girlfriend to get his octopuses pronouns right lmao!

Its like the writers are just as sick if this nonsense as I'm sure most people in the west are, and have no problems representing it as the corporate cash grab they are for people that want to "feel" like they're some modern revolutionaries.

Please don't change. This show is prime gold.

No. Sadly in season 3 they went full woke. With few jabs at woketards there and there - they bend their knee to woke.

Last season they made Stormfront storyline being some stupid nazzi. Which was idiotic.

This season there was BLM story of A-Train. Soldier boy was portrayed as some dinosaur who doesnt get modern world. And MM even screamed "racist" at him at one point.

Homelander supporters are being mocked as being republican-like supporters. Star-light supporters are being all good woke lefties.

Hughie was slammed for tired to be useless man who everyone had to protect and for taking V to be superhero. While Kimiko was praised to take V after losing her powers. And showrunners saying its was no the same because Kimiko did that to save everyone and Hughie because he was selfish. Or something like that. Because people noted that.

There were lots of little things like that.

Nah, I feeling making A Train the BLM supporter was just a ruse to turn him into a murderer, only to then get exiled from his family. Similar to how BLM thinks they're on the right side of history, only to become their own worst enemy when they start looting and rioting. The metaphor worked perfectly.

Also blue bird making the claim that black neighborhoods are more policed because there's more crime being committed, is a fact and its refreshing to see a character point it out.

Soldier Boy being a dinosaur doesn't really suggest anything about his character. He spoke highly of a certain POC I can't remember who it was, but he wasn't a racist. He was just a man of his time.

MM calling him a racist was admittedly an eye roll moment for me. Thats not something a level-headed dude like MM would say. Soldier Boy killing his family wasn't done because he was black, it was a wrong place wrong time situation. So that passed me off a bit.

In regards to the homelander and starlight fans, I didn't see either of them as representing Republicans or democrats. They both looked pretty normal to me. No blue bangs, no nose piercings, no black lipstick or overweight obese people. They all looked pretty neutral.

The kimoko thing is true though. Her DNA is different than Hugh's. They needed her because she didn't rely on V to have her powers, she needed V to get them back. Theres no danger involved.

With Huey its different because taking V when his body clearly isn't supposed to have it, can jeopardize his life. His need to help out as a hero is infact pretty selfish when he knows there's a chance it could kill him.

People see a few woke bits in the show and they automatically dismiss the entire thing as woke. The show's poking fun at all sorts of types, which includes, woke culture itself as you've observed.

MM calling Soldier Boy a racist was definitely an eye roll moment. There was really no reason to even think that about him. As you said, so far, he's just been depicted as a man from an older time.

Your take on the juxtaposition of Kimoko and Huey is totally on point. Not to mention that their motivations are very different too. It's pretty clear in the show that they are in two incomparable situations when int comes to taking the V.

Just finished S3 and was thinking the same thing.

Pretty much this and Curb Your Enthusiasm are the only shows I've seen happy to punch both sides of the face.

While this show certainly pokes fun at Hollywood's pandering, what with Vought and its movie studio exploiting wokeness for money, it doesn't mock wokeness itself. If anything, it's pro woke. Hughie is very much a feminist, and two instances in the first season stood out:

1. When he jokingly berates Butcher for using "cunt" as a pejorative, saying how they're flexible and can take a pounding. May not seem like a big deal, but this is a classic feminist talking point, who wish to eliminate all negative uses of the word "cunt".
2. On his date with Starlight, when she bowls terribly on purpose so as to not upstage Hughie, and him telling her to stop stroking his ego. This is a message to all the boys and girls out there: "girls, stop pandering to male insecurity, and boys, stop being insecure and don't be intimidated by strong women".

The wokeness may be more subtle than most things on TV, but it's definitely there. But subtle enough that there's no obvious way to complain about it. Hell, I'm not really complaining about it - but I did notice it.
