Homelander = Combination of Superman, Ted Bundy, Captain America?
Maybe with some Norman Bates in there as well...
He is a Psychopath but I think he's the best character on the show.

He reminds me of Captain Amazing from Mystery Men.
shareThrow some Brightburn in there for extra spice.
shareHaha--I like your Ted Bundy addition to the mix. But given that he's not that sexually active (from what we see), I'd go with Norman Bates instead, especially the effed up mommy issues + psycho killer.
shareYeah I added Ted Bundy because he is a 'wholesome guy' who apparently raped Butcher's wife (even though he claims it was consensual)
shareI actually wonder from the ending. The mother of his child didn't look like a captive. I wonder if the affair was consensual? Well, no way to find out until Season 2.
shareShe signed an NDA and agreed to never tell her husband and they would take care of her and the baby, it was in the scene right before.
shareGreat character. He seems naïve, somewhat dim, and easily manipulated early on. That changes over the span of the season, slowly, and in a highly entertaining way. I don't think he's very smart, but he's got an average intellect to go with his super-powered everything else.
shareAgree, awesome and well developed character. He's stunted. Homelander never had a mother or childhood so he was looking for those things but eventually begins to "grow up."
shareBest character by far.
shareGreat character, a sleazy, selfish Superman
The actor is terrific too
What amazes about Homelander and The Seven it's a weird strange phenomenon with the human condition, you'll notice people who project one thing like Homelander pretty much like Superman is always on about truth and justice and he's destroying lives behind the scenes, it's like somebody who is extremely homophobic who is actually a closet homosexual or a woke feminist whose secretly an abuser.

Like serial killers who seem like no threat pretty much like Norman Bates, look at Bill Cosby he represented family values and was the type of comedian who doesn't swear on stage but was secretly a sexually deprived monster who would drug and rape women, and there are religious leaders who run pray the gay away groups who are gay themselves, hypocrisy is a strange treat with people.
