Any more movies like this?

Hey all,

Tried to search for more movies from the keywords of this movie but had no luck(or it's just few movies like this) so thought I could write here instead.

Nothing really special I'm looking for but I just like the feeling with an all girl boarding school and some kind of relationship between teacher and student.I'm happy if anyone know anything or if it's just something that would be close to this movie in general that you know :-)

Thanks.

Notes on a scandal

I was gonna write the same thing, glad someone recommended this great movie.. "Notes on a scandal" has the same triangle love plot and student-teacher inappropriate relationship. But its a narrative thru the eyes of someone like "Miss G"; A lonely person, who finds characteristics/personality she wishes she had in another person and eventually comes to admire and then love them.

This movie's central theme is NOT pedophilia and lesbianism, if thats all the viewer got out of this picture i would question their perception and interpretation abilities.

La Residencia (The House That Screamed)

Hi,

I have seen 2 movies that left me with the same feeling as Cracks: Atonement and Cheri.
They are not with boarding schools or students as you want, but they have something else in common with this one.

Innocence. It's a rather strange movie but it shows lives of girls in a boarding school. Two female teachers also have an important part in the movie.

I'd suggest "Picnic at Hanging Rock"

It's set in a similar period at a girls boarding school though the subject matter is very different. It's a far superior film IMHO.

I agree. I was going to suggest that one but read the thread to see if anyone else had. "Picnic At Hanging Rock" is beautiful, and one of my favorites. I enjoyed "Cracks", but PAHR is far more memorable.

Check out "Mona Lisa Smile". It deals with girls at boarding school but it's kind of like the female version of "Dead Poets' Society".

Picnic at Hanging Rock from me too. It has the same dreaminess amid the oppressiveness.

By all means you should watch Magdalene Sisters (2002) It's a drama focused on a nursery school, and the nuns there made Miss G look like a saint. It's a very good movie and totally reccomended.
