The Blair Witch Project or Paranormal Activity

Blair witch was amazing and very very scary but pa actually edged it which surprised me, I'm a sucker for these type of films and rate both very highly.

Paranormal Activity. No contest.

Neither are great, but Blair Witch Project was better. Blair Witch had better characters, more happens and it also had a sense of fun.

For me there is absolutely no contest - PA is 100x scarier.

I was so excited to see Blair Witch when it came out. I was right there in line on the day it was released. And I sat there in the theater enduring 90min of annoying whining into a camera, hoping it would actually get scary at some time. I believe I was scared during the final 20 seconds of it.

PA scared the hell out of me plenty of times - and the ending is even better than Blair Witch.

The Blair Witch Project is better without a doubt. I like that it's more mysterious. It doesn't show you anything, it gives you an opportunity to think and use your imagination. Whereas Paranormal Activity shows you just about everything and so you don't get a chance to use your imagination. The Blair Witch Project relied on creating a spooky atmosphere and building tension alone and didn't need jump scares or special effects. It didn't really "show" anything but it was creepy enough so it didn't have to. Paranormal Activity is pretty good, don't get me wrong; but it is no Blair Witch.

I love PA but The Blair Witch Project is one of the greatest horror films of all time. It never loses it's appeal after countless viewings.
