Olivia Williams was the worst choice for the wife of the former UK prime minister. It cannot be true. She looked like she can be a homeless junky, who hadn't brushed her teeth or showered for ages.
In the first scene with her, I could not believe she is Mrs. Lang! She could be the maid of the house. Couldn't they find an upper-class well-groomed lady? It was also hard to believe somebody would sleep with this most unattractive butt-ugly trailor-trash-looking zombie, who has no color anywhere whatsoever!

She's gorgeous and naturally. So, you would prefer some Hollywood type with fake teeth and boobs and some hair extensions?

Firstly, why would a politician expect to have a sexy wife. Indeed, Tony Blair, who Adam Lang was based on, had a notoriously scary looking wife.

Secondly, the wife in this film was actually quite attractive, very much so for a woman over 40(Not saying older women can't be attractive, they very much can be!)

And then.....AND THEN THE CAGE COMES DOWN!

I'd have sex with her without hesitation. Very sexy, mature woman. And she's into younger guys.

she is naturally a very attractive woman and actress. her part in this film is not supposed to be a glamour role, though. she's playing the perpetually distressed wife of a prime minister who's shagging his secretary, and is accused of war crimes...in a very dark, remote, perpetually rainy place, i might add (l.o.l.)
i'm an olivia williams fan...

...though, i think kim cattrall is the lust-worthy one in this saga. and, even though ewan mcgregor's "ghost" dallies with ruth, it's amelia he takes a shine to at the beginning...and winds up with in the end.

Even if he lived i would doubt if she goes from a prime minister to a writer. She did not seem interested in him to me. I thought she missed the prime minister and just wanted to talk to some one.

I did not understand why everyone says Amelia was his mistress there is nothing in the film to indicate this. she seemed like a close adviser.

I doubted the sincerity of his post as well. She isn't ugly by any stretch of the imagination.

I thought Olivia Williams was very pretty; far prettier than Kim Cattrall.
