Ultimate Artist Revenge Fantasy?

There's plenty of Hollywood stories of writers and directors who have had their movies taken away from them by studios or producers. Watching this made me wonder if it was intended as a poke in the eye of the entire system? In the last episode, Alvin Sender flat out says, "I have zero talent. But what I do have, like a congenital birth defect, is money." And then he adds that Lisa will be answering to nobody...except to him. The suggestion being that even though producers are the least-talented contributors to the process, they still get to pull all the strings.

In the end, Lisa leaves Lou with a fate possibly worse than death. He's blind in both eyes and will likely never be able to see a movie again. And she also leaves Sender in the lurch.

Style over substance and the ending sucked, but still a fun watch, the acting and direction were sufficient, and a few memorable scenes.

That's a fair assessment.

What sucked about the ending?
