^This! Yes! Woodward is the original and the best. Denzel is a better actor than just about anyone , but Woodward was no slouch and he had class and dignity. The Equalizer was a weekly network TV series, and it’s not easy to do quality work in that environment, but Edward pulled it off.

Casting Queen Latifah in this role is a freaking travesty. She’d be better cast as Ironside.

At least Jessica Alba had the excuse of being a specially trained lab experiment in Dark Angel to garner her abilities(?). What's the excuse for this show?

Good. Denzel is one of the last true Hollywood leading men, and he should stay busy, as when his era ends, what are we left with? A bunch of vapid and forgettable flashes in the pan. I can't think of a single actor under thirty that stands out the way someone like Denzel does.
