Yet ANOTHER woke show with a woman throwing men around....
It seems like every new action show on TV these days has a female lead....they all seem to be incredible kung-fu savants....and they are constantly throwing multiple, armed men around, never losing a fight or even sustaining a blow.
Hey, I get it....every studio and production company are on the same mission to be woke, and to swing the pendulum the other way. Women want this on-screen....and even a lot of pussy men (with daughters)....who want their daughters to grow up feeling like they can do anything and everything a man can do. This is not truthful. We are just different, and have different strengths and weaknesses.
You're creating false expectations. And, you're slamming the pendulum TOO far the other way, and too abruptly......hence, it comes across as patronizing and pandering. Hell, it comes across as a silly, unrealistic joke.
If you wanted realism on-screen, these women would lose badly in these fights...like, 97% of the time. In those kinds of fights, they'd be knocked out cold almost every time--and in pretty short order (not that anyone would want to see that). If you want to convey some sort of warped, "equal-time" agenda on-screen....these women would at least need to sustain a blow to the chops once in a while (not that anyone would want to see that)...and would need to lose at least 50% of the time. Instead...we get these ridiculous, pandering fights in which one 100 lb lady is throwing 2-3 trained, armed men around like rag-dolls, and never taking one single blow. This is insulting to all involved, including your audience.
So now...the latest, in a long line of cop and action shows like MacGyver, Chicago PD, FBI, etc, etc...we get The Equalizer, featuring a middle-aged, heavy-set lady....you guessed it: throwing around a bunch of armed, trained men...never sustaining one blow, and presumably winning every skirmish she gets in.
This is silly pandering, and everyone knows it. You can't throw the pendulum THAT far...THAT hard the other way. It's just...disingenuous...and silly. Watching Queen Latifah...of all people....throw people around? This show won't last 6 episodes.
Enough with this forced, woke bullsh-t. It's an OVERreaction.
