Just kill the bad guys and be done with it. Not killing the bad guys leads to more problems and not just for Superman/Batman but for the world and the next innocents that would be killed by the same bad guys.

The justice system is an official body in a democratic system.
A criminal is a person who decides to make their own personal laws/rules and do what they want to.
Batman is doing the same thing as a criminal only he produces positive outcomes so people appreciate him.
If he was gutting people he would be serial killing people he personally thinks need to be murdered which would make him a serial killer and not a person helping society in a nontraditional way.

Batman is not doing what he wants to. He is generally defending people against aggression and generally it happens at the moment of aggression.
Self defense rules still apply so he is covered legally and even morally. Society would still love him.

I have worked with many criminals in psychology.
They are working to get money and take care of themselves. No criminal I have ever met thinks they are "bad" and does "bad" things even though they know the difference between right and wrong.
So, they are "perverts" which means they think bad is good and so on.

Batman does things the police can't and captures people he sees as mentally ill for reform. That's the right and non perverted thing to do.

Only that you don't. The law clearly defines self defense and anyone is entitled, by law, to kill the aggressor that would try to kill you or even someone else. And it's even morally right to do it.

Bad guys attacking a bank, killing people, taking hostages and Batman jumping in?
Self Defense and defends the lives of others. It's even more hands on than a sniper shooting the bad guys. If the sniper has the high moral ground and he can freely shot the bad guys then Batman is even more entitled since he is in the middle of the problem, being attacked and shot at.
