How is Sydney Sweeney getting any roles? She can't act. Like at all

She was so laughably bad in this. Dakota got all the shit for flop. But she was actually fine with her weird passive-agressive humor. Which movie should have had more.

But Sydney Sweeney should have been crucified for her lame non-acting. It's like she was walking mannequin with IA generated voice who was speaking for her. How can she say those words with zero emotion like teacher forced her to read phone book as punishment.

She is actress. Her job is to act. Here she was so miscast. Not for a second she looked believable as that "nerd in glasses" or whatever they were going after. Other two girls tried to act. She didn't.

And we saw and read reviews how she acts in same monotone in Anyone But You. And she was same in SNL. She can't act at all. That fact that Hollywood tried to make her new IT GIRL is ridiculous.

But since she is already 26 - she will age out in 2-3 years from that "young pretty girl" phase. And since she has no acting talent to transition to adult roles of 30-years old women - she will vanish overnight like countless before her. And in 5 years people would be like: "What happened to Sydney Sweeney? Wasn't she like everywhere?"

I could watch Sydney Sweeney in just about anything. I'm sure a lot of other people would too.

She can definitely act. Check out Reality, The Voyeurs, and Immaculate. Madame Web was not her best performance, but I thought she did a decent job with the role. The film had story problems which is not the fault of the actors.

You don't really need acting talent to succeed nowadays. You just have to have audience appeal/mass appeal, which she has.

If the film sucks really bad, then audiences won't go to it in droves regardless of the star.

She seems to be very popular at the moment. I see her everywhere.

Agreed. I misspoke. I initially thought the topic was Dakota Johnson. Sydney is a pretty hot topic these days.

I see a lot of people criticizing her looks but I think she's beautiful (although a little bit on the short side). I haven't seen any of her movies.

I've seen her in other things where she was ok. But yes, she was dreadful in this movie.
