First of all I'm no Kristen Stewart hater nor a fan and I did actually care for her character......but if I had the chance of dating smoking hot and also nice Lisa I'd stick to it and not Em(although she was really pretty and cute,too)

Can I just say the actress playing Lisa P., the make up, the clothes, the hair...I remember girls that looked like her were my DREAM girl! Caught a piece of this movie on FX during innings of a playoff baseball game and the scene where she is dancing to Let The Music Play...OMG....so INSANELY hot! I wanted her like the deserts flowers want rain!

They are both WAY above average in physical attractiveness. If you gave them both a neutral hairstyle and put them in the same swimsuit or whatever, without talking to them, maybe Lisa P. is a little hotter. But Em FAR more than makes up for it by being smarter, cooler, hipper, and just more interesting to be around.

LisaP had that fun, upbeat 80s thing going on and not that dreary grunge/hipster late 90s thing.
And no, the LisaP styling types were not all vapid then, that was simply how most girls were far and away and plenty were nice and intelligent.

Lisa P. is the one everyone wants to bonk, but apart from looks she isn't really that interesting once you look closer.
Em on the other hand is more the average girl in the looks department, but makes for the more interesting catch.
I'd take Em anyday, but Lisa P. sure is one hell of a temptation to go stray for a night.
In reality though there were lots of girls who styled and looked like Lisa P then who were interesting upon closer look too.
And Em seems a bit of a head case and that can usually mean all sorts of relationship hell in reality. And she was such a burnout stoner (which didn't really make sense since in 1987 the stoners were not the ones going to private elite colleges like NYU (Oberlin was one of maybe three exceptions to that rule in the entire nation back then, but they only had James going there).

Lisa was the clear winner when it came to sex appeal. Definitely walking sex on a stick. But she lacks intelligence and is self involved. Em could hold a conversation, was relatively intelligent, and was loyal. So I think you could have a much more quality relationship with her than Lisa P.
