So that’s why there were no deleted scenes on the home release.

Sigh, of course I’ll go and see it again though. Hopefully it’s a good 5-10 minutes of added footage.

15 minutes https://thedirect.com/article/spider-man-no-way-home-extended-cut-release-theaters

Nice! Thanks for that.

There isn't a lot out in September that I want to see so this will be good to see on the big screen again with some new footage.

reply

I just bought a ticket. I wanted to see it a second time during its original run but never had the time, so this is a nice opportunity to see it again on a big screen.

reply

Nice! I saw it twice in cinemas when it was out and whilst I'm a bit annoyed at Sony for withholding the deleted scenes from the blu-ray just to stick them back in for this cinema re-release I'm still looking forward to seeing it again on the big screen.

The bridge fight with Doctor Octopus, the fight with Doctor Strange in the mirror dimension, the fight with Goblin in the apartment building and the final fight at the Statue of Liberty are some of my favourite action scenes in the entire MCU.

reply

The apartment fight with the Green Goblin is certainly among my favorite action scenes in the entire franchise. Thor arriving in Wakanda is the best moment of all. I'm not even sure what else to include... Captain America chasing Bucky after finding Nick Fury has been shot, and Cap holding the helicopter in place, both come to mind. Iron Man and Captain America's fight at the end of Civil War is remarkable, especially when you take into account how perfectly it was set up yet how surprising it was the first time around. Peter escaping the rubble in Homecoming is up there, in part because of how perfectly it captured the Ditko moment from ASM #33. Oh, and Banner becoming Hulk just in time to punch the giant space worm thing... that's a great one, too!

reply

Agreed, the Russo Brother's films do have the best action but I definitely thought Jon Watts improved with the scope and scale of the action with each of his Spider-Man films. I love the Mysterio illusion fight scene in Far From Home as well.

Obviously a lot of credit should be given to the fight choreographers and the visual effects artists who worked on these films as well, they absolutely nailed how Spider-Man should move and fight.

reply

Oh, a scene I forgot, but one of two that affected me the most of any scenes in the MCU is at the end of Far From Home, when Peter's spider sense goes off and he grabs the gun just as Mysterio was about to shoot him in the head. That was so suddenly dark, and so shocking, but in an after-the-fact manner that you don't often have in cinema. Usually it's the hero escaping some known danger, or facing an enemy, but that was a danger you didn't know existed until after the fact. There was a sense of retroactive dread that lasted well after the credits rolled.

reply

Yeah that was great, same with the fakeout scene in the illusion where it looks like Nick Fury has shot and killed Beck and then that just also turns out to be part of Beck's illusion.

Great film and great trilogy, easily one of the best superhero trilogies ever made.

reply

I can't think of a better trilogy. There are many that have one or two standout films, but the MCU Spider-Man is the only where all three films are excellent.

reply

Those 10 minutes are probably not going to be anything special either. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this cut unless it comes to VOD
