Everyone knows Bill & Ted had sons at the end of Bogus Journey, but now they’re daughters because reasons. The creator apparently thinks them being girls instead of boys is “fresh” and “new”. Like we haven’t been seeing gender and race swaps in movies for fucking ever. Way to retcon Bogus Journey for forced diversity, asshole Ed Solomon.

It's not that their kids are magically girls now (like why not 1 of each?). It's that the girls will be 'the real' saviours and it will be their music that saves the world instead... And they will be absolute deadbeat dads who are easily upstaged. I'm sure there will be some 'dad growth' type stuff about raising their kids is the true reward or something but it is a total character assassinating retcon ... Which is what happens in all of these movies.

shareI rolled my eyes a bit at the retcon of them suddenly having daughters but didn't find the change itself that big of a deal as it was never a significant plot point. I thought it was a lame decision to simply make them girl versions of Bill & Ted (but apparently less dumb) instead of being their own unique characters.
