Maybe this hulk will be strong for once

After Marvel had Thor and Thanks bitch-slap Hulk around maybe this hulk will be actually become stronger the angrier she gets. She is a woman so I give her good chances.

I got a hunch some of the storylines will involve Bruce becoming the more traditional Hulk again. I don't think it's any secret the way the Russos did him dirty just plain pissed fans off.

reply

It's called a character arc.

reply

And it was a bad one at that.

reply

For once, I agree. They had all this set up for Hulk and Banner to gradually come into conflict and then came Endgame where Banner just turns himself green offscreen and I guess no one cares what happened to the Hulk persona.

reply

Lots of people care. The Russos weren't among them, but it was one of the biggest complainst about Endgame.

reply

I meant no one in-universe cared.

reply

Do some marvel fans actually excuse the atrocious treatment of the Hulk/Banner characters as a "character arc"?

reply

Don't forget Iron Man in his Hulkbuster suit in "Age, i.e., 30 Minutes, of Ultron".

Marvel puts the Hulk in their movies not to show how powerful he is, but to show how powerful other characters are by having them beat the crap out of him. This is true even of his stand-alone movies.

reply

That's the Worf Effect.

And in the first Avengers film he was clearly incredibly powerful and dangerous.

I had hoped we were going to see the real Hulk again - fro Avengers, AOU, or even Ragnorak - but the closer we get to to the show the less likely that looks to be. Hulk has had many forms over the years, but he's not supposed to be the professor forever. Hulk is generally of the most powerful characters in the whole franchise. I'm not sure we will ever see classic Hulk again.
