Why did Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood win anything?

It was a terrible film. This is only getting a pass because Tarantino's name is attached.

Totally disagree. It was a fantastic film with a great cast and a sharply written, smart screenplay. It was entertaining, surprising, and a great experience.

Have to disagree, I think Brad Pitt deserved his award and Tarantino script was great. I wouldn't go for it for Best Film or Best Director at the Oscars myself, I have two or three films I liked more. I think it's one of Tarantino's best.

reply

"terrible"...? Hardly.

I enjoyed it and Pitt's performance was great, but his performance in Inglorious Bastards was way better.

reply

It didn't feel like a movie me. Just a series of vignettes leading up to a storyline with changed history.

reply

Little Women only having 2 nominations and not winning anything was a farce when you see Once Upon a time getting awards.

reply

Maybe they didn't like that it was being remade for the sixth time. But then again A Star is Born got some love last year.

Some stories should be renewed for each generation. It's the same reason I'm always happy to see a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

I actually think it has little to do with QT this time. This is a Hollywood period piece made about Hollywood in Hollywood. They were always gonna chuck some awards over to this.
