It wasn't bad, it is in to the point of the story, no pointless scenes mostly, the acting is mediocre, in particular the leading actress is so and so, it's a solid 5/10, nowhere near 7/10, It is barely saved by the situation at the end
Exactly what I gave it. I should stop watching these viral horror movies from which the normies get "blown away". What a banal borefest. They had a cool MacGuffin, but that is it.
This is an A24 picture. It's for college attending liberals in San Fran. & Los Angeles, Calif. and New York, New York. We're talking hipsters here. This picture has great critical reviews.
Normies are watching Scream VI, Insidious: The Red Door and The Nun II. They'll also be checking out The Exorcist: Believer and Five Nights at Freddy's during October.
I have never watched Insidious, The Conjuring, The Nun or whatever, but recently almost put myself to sleep with Hereditary. Even without watching these, "Talk to me" is still banal. These scenes and scares got old long time ago and the bland writing is not helping either.
I liked The Haunting of Hill House and Archive 81 (the last two episodes kinda suck, sadly), which makes me believe that it is still possible to write a good ghost story, but Talk to me isn't one.
