shareI think this was a good movie. I like the way it was shot, not at all like Blair Witch where the actors turned the cameras on themselves. The filming reminded me of all the home movies I have seen so watching it didn't make me want to see a still scene. The acting was good. I wonder how many of us would make it through something like this.
I also watch anything J J Abrams produces because he has a good mind with great ideas.

I just watched this for the first time; I avoided it when it was originally in theaters because it seemed corny. I must say that this is the first time I've been genuinely scared watching a horror film in a really long time. Maybe it's because I'm in NYC a lot and maybe it's because the characters remind me of people I actually know. Whatever the case, this had the ring of authenticity for me. I felt genuinely anxious watching this film, in a good way. So yeah, I agree that this is a very good horror film.
shareI remember seeing a PRE-SCREENING of this with my then pregnant sister...she was holding my arm tighter and tighter and I remember worrying about her. We both felt like we got off a roller coaster leaving the theater! The movie was THAT intense! Its well paced & has a lot of tense moments. Still one of my favorite movies released over the last 10 years! I can watch it over and over and never gets tired.

It's impressively shot and has good effects....but it's not incredible, nor even good. Just okay.
