Anyone else glad that Marlon Wayans is not returning for the sequel?

He almost ruined the first one anyways. He spent the whole movie acting like a buffoon, cracking dumb jokes and trying to "mack" on a white woman.

I wouldn't say Marlon almost ruined the film. His character was just a walking cliche. Aside from destroying two of the warheads at the end, his only real purpose was comic relief. Even his love story with Scarlett felt cliche.

There's no confirmation saying the RISE OF COBRA characters died off screen in RETALIATION, but in Ripcord's case I think small loss. I'd actually like to see a love triangle between Duke, Scarlett, and the Baroness in the third film. And bonding over Ripcord's death might be the way to bring Duke and Scarlett closer together. But then again there's also the question of whether or not Duke lived.

problem with the script? too *beep* bad, talk to the writers, since THEY wrote HIS CHARACTER to ACT that way as HIS CHARACTERS PERSONALITY..

I keep asking myself, when people write reviews on this movie, do they ever realize that source material is from a cartoon and comic book that was loaded with tongue n cheek and a few jokey characters.
In my estimation, the movie was colossally lame at times, but passable. I wish they found a more heroic (better acted) Duke or better, yet not used the character as at all, same for Scarlett. As far as the Baroness goes, you mean to tell me that they could find a really well acted European actress to that part. But, I feel like it's big problem with Hollywood blockbusters, which aren't very character driven to begin with and are more about effects. It really hurts production, even more when the writers or producers know very little about the source material or change it around for the most ridiculous reasons.
