As an expert in the Horror genre I know when a movie doesn’t look up to snuff, which is why I’m glad to report that this looks amazing.
It’s going to be much darker than the original and have better acting for sure, the colors won’t be a character in the film but this could give Argento’s film a run for its money. I guess only time will tell.
Bullshit. How can you even remotely evaluate it before you've even seen it? Your credentials as "an expert in the horror genre" don't carry much weight. I am willing to wager this remake of the beloved classic will be as forgettable as the remakes of Carrie, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, My Bloody Valentine, Prom Night, Black Christmas and all the other worthless remakes that have clogged our multiplexes the past 20 years.
Not a chance, the cinematography alone has already put it above those lackluster remakes you mentioned. Then you look at whose doing the score and watch the actual trailer and it’s clear to me that this movie is a game changer for the horror genre. Trust me, I’m an expert.
We'll see, Mr. "Horror Expert", but please don't come crying to me when this turkey winds up in the $3.74 dollar bin in Walmart by Christmas while people are still willing to shell out $40.for deluxe Blurays of the original with Jessica Harper from forty-one fucking years ago!
So the price a movie goes for determines how good it is? Wow I guess the 1987 SOV slasher flick “Blood Lake” is the greatest horror movie of all time then.
I guess I also have wait to see what rating it has on IMDB too, the opinions of strangers are relevant to my opinion. (End of sarcasm)
I have to admit as someone who usually dislikes remakes the trailer has my hopes up. The film is really a reimagining.
It doesn't have the bright colours and the goblin soundtrack that make the original my favourite horror film but i think they have probably done the right thing by not trying to imitate the original and instead doing their own thing with it. Importantly it is not a Hollywood style remake like most horror remakes are but instead looks like an arty remake
