'They should remake bad movies...

and not the ones that are closer to perfection, and oh so modern.
Why don't they remake "Chopping Mall" or "The Dark Power" instead?

Ok, now please list the bad horrors you think that should get remade! thanks

night of the comet. i like the original but its lacking, it has potential. and maybe killer klowns from outer space. its a cult classic that i loved instantly but i would like to see a new take on it with hopefully a bigger budget.

Another would be "Happy Birthday to Me"...

I've wanted to see a competent director take on Plan 9 From Outer Space for a while...

THE MARQUIS: HES IN UR PRISONS, RITIN TEH SMUTFIC

aren't there two plan 9 remakes on the works? Or I think one of them already came out, but on video only.
I saw the teaser trailer for the other one and it looked a bit like the Dawn of the Dead remake. It's hard for me to imagine a Plan 9 with running zombies, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

this is a film that deserves a remake. I watched a few argento movies, and everyone, both here and on tv said suspiria was great.

i honestly was so bored watching this technicolor sh!t i thought my brain was gunna melt inside my head. the tense scenes in this film were overshadowed by the continuous urge to yawn, the color palette usage made me wince and quite frankly looked like jizz on my tv.

there was no gore, no savagery, nothing special about this film, just some butch dyke wandering around menacing the camera every 5 minutes.

this film does deserve a remake, but honestly, for the life of me i don't understand how such a crap film to begin with could be remade into something watchable.

so? so I get annoyed when people sit there blindly hyping and vamping up a film that blows. it drives me to the point of lunacy. and this -> "
Actually, I took a minute to check your posting history and there's nothing to gain arguing with you" why the fvck do you feel the need to argue with me, those pissants get that from me beacause they feel they should argue with me, arrogant to the pinpoint where people think their bullsh** opinons mean anything to me. I'm saying I thought this film was overhyped, yeah it had gore, and menace, etc but it needs more then that imo, i never bashed the cinematography, i just said i was dissapointed, probably beacause everywhere i looked people was praising this.

it's like dawn of the dead, loved by everyone, but it's not a horror, it's cheap, crappy music, not tense, or thrilling, or shocking, just depressing.

you didnt want to like it. this film is truly disturbing. you must have watched it during the day with the sound turned way down and had a smirk on your face the whole time like "everyone says this is scary, im gonna sit here and not be scared and piss on this movie" WHY EVEN BOTHER GETTING ON IMDB AND TRASHING A CLASSIC . oh yea, YOU are in the minority. make no mistake. that first murder scene is widely considered the most brutal death scene ever filmed. i suggest you rewatch it by yourself about midnight with lights out and volume way up.

Even though it's not that old at all, I still think someone should remake The Happening. Great concept, rubbish execution.

reply

What if somebody remade something like Curtains or Burnt Offerings? Just not Suspiria.

I'm actually watching it right now.

reply

no one should remake anything. ever. period. theres an analogy i made up that i use exclusively for remakes: would you put make up on the mona lisa and try and sell it to the same people that enjoyed the original?
bad or good... no movie should be remade. ever. period.

reply

I use the paintings analogy too... Is a good way to understand that a movie is art; at least for some viewers and (most important) directors.

reply

Unhinged or Satan's Blade should be remade instead of this. Those are two of the very few movies in which the remake would probably be better than the original film.

Nobody can make me feel like *beep*

Weekend at Bernies, one and two...

Meghan Fox should play Bernie in both of them.

So you're saying they should remake Phenomena?

Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things should be remade by somebody competent. Now THAT was a bad movie. Well, it's a good movie, but for all the wrong reasons.

reply

OP - I agree 100%!!!

Take "Don't Look in the Basement" (1973). I think that should be on the top of horror producers' list, might want to change the title though...

I've always pondered on this to.

There are thousands of bad movies out there and many that sound a lot better than they are. Sometimes a good story can be derailed by a bad director. If these where remade I'm sure at least less people would be annoyed.
