why did it bomb?

Two words: Rainn Wilson.

Hollywood asked the nation "Can this man become the next Jason Segel/Seth Rogen?" and the nation answered with a resounding "NO".

I didn't know it bombed....in fact I'd never even heard of the film until I saw it on cable, so the assertation about "enough" commercials etc seems to be a false reality. As far as my opinion goes, I find the movie extremely charming and the cast quite good. My favourite bit is with Pete Best sitting at the bus stop reading a copy of Rolling Stone....I had to do a double take to make sure it was indeed him and when I did I busted up for laughing. The music isn't the best but that really doesn't matter...it's still much better than the crap that passes for rock n' roll and actually fits the movie.
