Ever been in a Fight?
I have, but only once, got the s h i t kicked out of me but both of us went down for a couple of days.
shareI have, but only once, got the s h i t kicked out of me but both of us went down for a couple of days.
shareI've been in several fights. Got my jaw broken once and my nose broken twice. In reality fights don't last very long. It's usually done with the first or second blow. It starts with pushing, someone launches at you, and if he hits, there's not much of comeback. All those tough guys here talking bout kicking and punching and stuff... you can tell they don't know *beep*
Also it's BS that kicks don't work. It's a simple question of range. If someone comes at you, you kick him in the balls or the knee-caps. In 8 out of 10 fights, this means the end. The problem is, that if your're not used to stuff like that, and if your're a "normal" guy, not a thug who does this on a regular basis, you probably are to scared to strike first. you probably scared as *beep* when it comes to a confrontation and you feel like you can't move or lift an arm. it's even harder to really hit someone straight in the face. i punched a guy in the face and his lip kinda "exploded". he cut my hand with a teeth of his and it felt terrible. i never wanted to hit someone again. but sometimes you just can't escape it. at least not from where i am from. if you've been in a real fight, and you hurt someone and didn't feel *beep* afterwards, chances are hight, that you're an *beep*
i got in a fight with a short guy he was 5'6" and im 6'5" i was laughing the whole time because he was so awkward, he walked up behind me and hit me in the back of the head so i grabbed his glasses off of his face and just snapped them in half (the greatest biggest ass hole move of my life) so he hit me in the shoulder and my neck (because he couldnt reach my face) i kept hitting him in the ear until he fell over after it was over i was shaking uncontrollably with both laughter and adrenaline. Its the only fight i have ever been in after the age of 10 and i learned the "he hit me first excuse" doesnt work anymore even though it was true.
And kicking is for fags
I tore this guy's ACL in my dorms when I was in college by kicking him. Needless to say, after the knee was mangled, I beat the hell out of him.
sharePeople who have a wrestling background are the best fighters.
I have won every fight I have been in other than 1, which I have a pretty good excuse. I was blind sided and beaten with brass knuckles by 3 dudes. They had to glue my eyelid back together, not to mention I had a craked cheekbone out of the ordeal. Never saw the main instigator until 5 years later at a family reunion. Turns out we are 3rd cousins. Lol.

Did you give him a finger-four-leg-lock?LOL!!
shareIn the wise, wise words of Bas Rutten:
"Never underestimate the kick to the balls!"
I've been in 2 proper fights in my life with strangers, the first was a drunken fist fight that ended in a mess of drunken idiots hitting each other :P
The second time I was also drunk, but remembering my previous fail, used Judo to choke the guy unconscious in about 5 seconds and walked away.
Grappling is so effective in a brawl because most of the time you end up in such close range that throws and takedowns are much easier to pull off than strikes.
And in a fight between an MMA fighter and a street punk I'd back the MMA guy every time :P
JUDO IS THE BEST.
what choke did you use

Two. But they were both a bit one-sided. Just me punching some kid in one, and some kid punching me in the other.
sharewow most of you really dont have any fighting knowledge at all (not that, thats a bad thing) I've been into quite a few fights inside and outside of a ring and with out a doubt kicking is very effective in a fight and to defend your self also. with that said I would say even the most skilled fighters best option is to walk away from any and all street fights, the only thing to be earned in a street fight is injury and maybe some pride (if it makes you proud to be a tough guy or something) MMA fighters are some of the most highly trained fighters in the world (often training in multiple disciplines) and 99.9% of them would never fight anywhere but in the ring or cage. the kids being depicted in the movie are a complete disgrace to the sport of mixed martial arts and should not be viewed as MMA fighters but more like spoiled rich kids following there new "fad". sorry for the rant lol.
shareHaven't seen the movie, and probably won't ever, but I definitely agree with you...if you can learn how to kick effectively, it can definitely work to your advantage. However, I wouldn't recommend kicking unless you are certain that you are skilled enough to utilize them in an effective manner. It is entertaining watching someone throw a half-assed kick, and watching it being blocked and brought up into a single-leg before they are dumped to the ground. If you can throw a good kick though, then you are extremely dangerous.

You're right, but this movie was a lot more interesting than Rage in the Cage - so that's what you get. People want fantasy. It's funny how much.
What hump?
I haven't been in a real fight. I am a very big guy and don't get into fights if it's avoidable.
So far, I only felt it necessary to hit a person with full force once (some guy that ticked out in a concert crowd and just started swinging). I don't consider one punch a fight.
@RicoSwaff
Kicks are the only way a weak guy has a chance against a strong man, if he is lucky.
Can you imagine Cam Gigandet (the villain of Never Back Down) beating up someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson? Neither can I.
I got in a semi-serious drunk fight with one of my friends last night but I ended up choking him out in less than a minute by RNC.
sharePeople who say kicks are for pussies don't know what the hell they're talking about. I bet they're all brute-force and ignorance, if not weaklings who talk tough on the internet.
The last fight I got into, I was punched in the nuts for no reason by a guy almost a foot shorter than me and twice my width. I punched him in his eye.
Who says kicks are only for pussies? They are for average built people. Not everyone walks around with a 60+cm bizeps.
Personally, I prefer being capable of the brute force approach. So far, no one in their right mind has attacked me.
The thing about a lot of the big dudes I was at high school with is that they couldn't fight for s*** because they hadn't needed to learn. They got by on intimidation and big-talk until someone who wasn't cowed by any of started on them. Sure, they had strength that came with their size, but they were just lumbering louts.
shareYeah, this is exactly what I've seen. Most of us don't need to fight so we have no clue how, myself included.
What hump?
I haven't been in a fight since I was like...10 lol
I personally don't like to hurt other people and would rather walk/run away
And if I could'nt get away I would try to just poke their eyes/kick in the balls/etc and leg it lol
i got robbed once... i gave him my wallet... and i still got stabbed! then i punch his face and slam his head at the corner of a wall... his scull cracked... everything takes less than 10seconds.
i dont fight unless they try to kill me
I have been in a few fights mainly wrestling and usually I tried to calm the other one down. Once one guy tried to punch my cousin while he was keeping his brother and another guy away from fighting I intercepted the punch and put him on his knees with wrist and elbow lock ( i got lucky.) Cousin told me later that it looked pretty cool :)

Yeah, it's funny how that goes.
I'm not really any good but I had a few good instincts and one of the fights I was in in high school a guy hit me from behind, I turned around and started swinging. I didn't get too many good hits in and I felt like I'd done a bad job after the teacher broke it up.
Later that afternoon I kept noticing that my forearms hurt - so I looked at them and counted 11 bruises and I realized he had tried to hit me 11 times and didn't get a in single shot, but I got three or four in, then I felt pretty good.
You don't notice the pain when you're in the moment - you just fight. It's sort of nice forgetting, when you're an angry person or depressed nothing makes you forget yourself more than a fight.

Also, win or lose you end up having respect for and get respect from your opponents after a good fight. There is good that can come out of them.

Wow that sucks,I got into it with this girl in my art class when I was in the 8th grade because she had really short hair and she thought I said something about it,but I didn't but anyways she came up to me after class infront of the school and started talkin *beep* and I had my lock from p.e in my hand cause it was friday and we cleared out our lockers before the weekend and before she got her last word out I put the lock over my finger and punched her in the face with it,I ended up getting house arrest tho for a few months......
In the darkness that surrounds me
I see my own special hell
Whoever said kicking is gay is a moron and obviously has never fought. Legs are stronger and longer, DUH!
