I also think Michael Shannon did an excellent job as Nelson Van Alden, but I did not like the character for long enough (I liked him as it went on into the last two seasons, but not before) in order to list him. And I do think Steve Buscemi was excellent as Nucky. But Nucky was not a favorite character. Shea Wigham also was excellent as Eli, but Eli was just not a top five character.
