I think it's becuase he's an easy target. Because he's been having financial problems(still) he's using his acting career to help pay it off and appears to be picking almost anything that comes his way, such as The Wicker Man, both Ghost Riders, Knowing, The Ant-Bully, and Next. People don't take him that seriously as they used to, so they consider him a has-been actor and will find anything about him to make fun of him for, like his hair for example. What I can't stand is that some people say he hasn't proven himself as an actor, total crap Leaving Las Vegas proved he could handle a serious, complex role as did Adaptation years later. And movies like The Rock, Con Air and Face/Off showed he could handle head-lining action roles, and Raising Arizona comedy. Cage has already proven he can act his way out of a paper bag, and he doesn't need to prove it anymore, he just needs to be a little picky with projects which he is from time to time, but not as much. I'm sure in a few years the hate will die down a little, if not a lot...I hope.
I've got an ignore list longer than a Chinese pone book.
