Melissa Joan Hart should win an oscar!

After watching this movie I was simply stupefied at how brilliant this film was. The acting was AMAZING, especially Melissa Joan Hart. Her character, and the rest of the cast for the matter, was so believable I was astonished. The acting compliments the complexity and ingenuity of the plot. I was in a state of shock when I reached the conclusion of this film; I didn't see it coming! This movie is a real thinker, and those not up to a challenge shouldn't attempt to watch it. Furthermore, the film gives us a scrupulous look at the setting; after watching it I can practically give you every single little detail about where everything took place! I think viewers will enjoy being so immersed into the environment. And lastly, but definitely not the least, was the riveting dialogue. Some of the best one-liners were fired off here since "Pulp Fiction"!

In conclusion, this is one of the best films I've ever seen. Go rent it!

Of course you didn't... there was no ending. The credits start rolling mid-scene.

reply

Haha. Then you didn't watch the flick, because she was BY FAR the worst character in this movie. Everyone else I thought was good, she seemed SO fake. BARF.

Decent movie though.

Finally, someone who knows his movies. I applaud you, sir, and highly recommend two other sleeper classics, with more wit and thrills in them than The Hurt Locker and Avatar combined, a fabulous 1959 flick called "Plan 9 From Outer Space", and follow that up with 1962's spectacular "Eegah", with Richard Kiel's mystifyingly Oscar-overlooked performance. Here's to the movies!

Right. Well, I have to-- I have to go now, Duane, because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth.

reply

Dude, you have it all WRONG!!!! This is one of the worst movies ever made. The script sucked, the story sucked, most of the actors sucked, Melissa was the WORST one there. she can't act her way out of community theater!!!!! And the worst thing about this movie is the incredibly weak, stupid, awful ending!!!

I have to assume the OP is being sarcastic. This is the worst film I have seen in ages. It had potential, but MJH's acting was laughable (and not in a good way) and the ending or lack thereof was so bad as to be criminal. Seriously! I had to back up the DVD to be sure I hadn't missed anything at the very end. Nope.

SO. BAD.

Sarcasm or not, he's going on my ignore list.

Although she was excellent in this film, the theatrical performance was simply amazing. If you have the opportunity, I highly suggest seeing this on Broadway. Of course, it didn't do justice to the book but what does, really?

reply

I can imagine this would be an incredible theatrical endeavour. Sometimes it is better to stick to the stage rather than migrate to the screen. There is a place for both, but sometimes, not at the same time, eh?

I either think Brad1020 is off his medication or should be on medication.

There should be more chances for the chinese woman to win an Oscar than Melissa Joan Hart...

To brad1020:
Hahaha, dude that was hilarious. Nicely done, but please elaborate a little more. This gem deserves a bigger review. And besides Melissa I think the academy should also at least nominate the visionary director. Maybe best picture as well?

To everybody else flaming the OP: What are you, twelve? The movie was a joke and the OP just made one. How could you even for a sec thought he was serious? The title of the thread alone is a good indicator.

Peace.

Obviously The Dude In The Mask should receive Best Actor credits at the Oscars this year. What an amazing performance. The best I've seen- well, ever. I've watched this movie 337 times so far and am just completely blown away by this guy's performance. Simply breathtaking.

While Melissa won't be in the line-up with Meryl and Kate this year, I have to say... I work with prosecuting attorneys and she actually reminded me of a few of them. So, while this is the sort of movie where the acting is a little, shall we say, out there, I think she was actually pretty well cast for this part. The venal, ruthless, self-obsessed, tries-to-come-off-as-obsessed-with-justice thing... yeah, she actually got that right.
