She shouldnt have won for best actress. That was one of the dud years.

Best Actress was pretty much the only award this movie won at most award shows that year.

The other nominees that year: Annette Benning for The Kids are Alright, Jennifer Lawrence for Winters Bone, Michelle Williams for Blue Valentine, and Nicole Kidman for Rabbit Hole.

Black Swan is the only movie of that group that I even remember and Portman was fantastic in it. If shes not your winner than who it?

Jennifer Lawrence was much better in Winter’s Bone. It really wasn’t close.

I had no problem with Natalie Portman but winning any award for best actress for this movie was ridiculous. Crazy chick goes even crazier for 2 hours. The End

I liked it. Pretty convincing portrayal of someone mentally falling apart.

Jennifer Lawrence for Winter's Bone, then? I'm not sure she was hands-down better than Portman here. I haven't seen Blue Valentine, but Michelle Williams was nommed for that one.
