I really liked this film, I found it very artistic and dark and I was wondering if there were any similar films. For example the protagonist is in a creative setting (in this case she is a dancer) and slowly collapses? The darker and creepier the better.

Perfect Blue. It's a Japanese animated movie, and its influence can be easily seen in Black Swan and some other Aronofsky films. It's a great movie.

I really like this film too and the above quote is a good choice. I would like to add Polanski's The Ghost Writer. Another one that pops up is The Interpreter with Kidman. It's been a while since I saw it, but I remember when checking, after seeing it, that I thought it was odd that it got quite a bad rating/metascore here on IMDb. I guess tastes are different :)

The Shining...

Not many films are in the same ballpark as a Kubrick film and while this is still a notch below, it's "Psychological Horror" is as close as it gets. Especially after multiple viewings. It's utterly disturbing but so beautiful all at once. The Shining, while much different, holds alot of the same themes of destruction and madness as well as ambiguity which is needed to sustain any belief in our POV.
