Can you rewatch it?

Seasons 1-4 are about as good as any TV you’ll ever see but that was followed by a decline until it completely crashed and burned by the finale. By now it’s established that season 8 was epic garbage but in my opinion it was already dying by season 6.

So when I went back to try and rewatch the brilliance of the first few seasons, I just couldn’t stick with it. It’s so disappointing seeing every character knowing how bungled every single storyline plays out.

So as brilliant as it was at one time I don’t know if I can rewatch it from the beginning.

What say you?

As far as most shows go I'd say this is probably top of the line in terms of rewatchability. Yes, the writing was awful in season 8 but the rest of the show is a masterpiece

I just finished and would watch it again. Not anytime soon, tho.
I'm a few years from watching Spartacus. It's time to revisit it. Excellent show.

While s8 was not as good, I still enjoyed the series.

I tried three times each over a year apart and I could not even get past episode 1.

And THAT really perplexes me as this show is really right up my alley.

Maybe I just have to make my mind up and commit myself to watching the first four episodes on Saturday and see if the hook sinks in.

I wish you would give it a chance BUT then I’d hate for you to finally get into it only to watch the steady decline into mediocrity (after season 6 imo). Once I finally got into it (took me a while too) I was so impressed. But man once it went downhill it was so sad...

I am old enough to have seen a few dozen beloved shows follow that pattern. It is very hard to keep a show interesting. No changes and it can get stale for the viewers and actors. So they need change and quality change at that and THAT is hard to master.

I only ever watched it once. It was last summer after it finished airing, so I got through it fairly quickly...

I don't think I would rewatch it anytime soon. Maybe those who spent a decade watching it as it airs are ready to rewatch...
