Where did she come from??

I hope this is explained at some point but I highly doubt it ever will be.
How was Arya able to get past all of those wight walkers? Did she wear a wight walker face magic disguise? Did Bran use the pack if ravens to air drop Arya into the circle of walkers?

And then once getting past them, how was she able to leap in the air so high that she was coming down on an angle to stab the night king?
She couldn't have jumped from the tree because it was on the other side of where she jumped.
It was already unrealistic to have her penetrate the circle of walkers undetected, but that super high and long jump puts it in an entirely different realm of retarded.

I dont care how much training she did over the course of the entire series, you cant jump like that. She has never done a jump like that. She could have used that magic jump a bunch of times during the episode and it would have saved her life.
For instance in the library room when she was trapped she could have done a flying leap on top of a bookshelf.

8 seasons of build up to the night king showdown and he was defeated by such a ridiculous method. I dont care that it was Arya who delivered the final blow, it actually makes sense now that they brought up the blue eyes thing from season 3 again. But the way she did it was utterly unbelievable and is sloppy writing that will be a sore spot on the series forever.

Why did she scream like a lunatic while flying through the air? What a crappy assassin.

We'll see in episode four.

Arya has a small figure as gymnastics player. And well-trained gymnastics player can jump pretty high. Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HO0zsigh30 This kind of jump can't be performed in the library room simply because there is not enough space to speed up.

The library room scene not only reveals how sneaky Arya is but also reveals that those zombies were sensitive enough to hear a drop of blood. That's why it would be wrong for us to assume that the night king wasn't aware of Arya's sneaking into the circle. Otherwise, you are missing the whole point of the scene of Theon's slow-motion suicidal attempt to kill the night king. Have you noticed that none of the white walkers in that circle try to stop him? That because the night king is a thousands years creature, neither Theano nor John Snow would stand a chance to defeat him in short range fight. (He didn't let John Snow come near to him probably because he knew the prophecy too). His allowing Arya's "surprise" attack is just like his allowing Theano get close to him, only to crash Bran's last hope with his bare hand and watch his reaction on that numb face. But Arya's real "disguise" is not wearing other's faces but her own. Everyone underestimated that pretty little girl including the night king.

The whole prophecy about "The promised prince or princess" seems like a big diversion now, or maybe not. To me, who ever made that prophecy might play a tiny role in defeating the night king. I think this episode is quite good. Congratulation to the show runners and GRRM.

In the books the prophesy is a little different depending on where ‘you’ are. In association to the prophesy of the ruler who is promised, there also is the three headed dragon one, meaning that the promised one who will defeat the WWs/NK is not one, but three people. So the theory always was Jon (getting the wildlings together with the northerners to fight, and recruiting Dany to this cause), Dany (dragons and her army) and ? for the books. So maybe in the show it’s like that and the third person needed to defeat the undead was Arya.

In a show with dragons and zombie armies, you just have to go with it.

thats the typical leave your brain at the door argument.

No, it’s the omg get a life it’s just a tv show argument.

they are one in the same, assuming I have no life because a tv show that I watch had a stupid and impossible moment.

It was totally wonky, to be sure. Whether or not it's plausible Arya could have been able to sneak through the ranks of the dead to get within striking distance depends, I guess, on how willing your suspension of disbelief is (which has to be huge to begin with to watch a story about dragons and an army of the walking dead)....

But what really gives me pause is I have to question if this conclusion to the threat of the Night King has any resemblance to how Martin will plot this finish in his final books. The TV climax to this story just seemed, imo, a little too cut and dried and convenient for my satisfaction. In other words, it wasn't original or challenging at all--something GOT usually provided during its run up to this.

I would have enjoyed it a 100% more if Night King fought Jon Snow before Arya goes all stabby on him, that would explain Night King being a bit more distracted to pull of that move. They teased it so hard in Hardhome and I've been anxious to see it onscreen. I'm a sad panda now.

Arya jumping out of nowhere is typically the kind of bullshit bad writers have to offer.

Theon killing the night king would have been a much better idea.

The night king stabs him with the broken spear, Theon takes a dragon glass dagger out of his boot and kills the night king.

But that whole battle was stupid as f*ck.

- The way they got all the dothrakis killed in 10 seconds.

- Then Dany leaves the castle roof seeing the dothrakis are dead.

Jon: "Where are u going ? The NK is coming !"
Dany: "The dead are already here".
Jon: "WTF ???"

Did he think that all dothrakis died from natural causes in the dark ?

- Melisandre coming out of nowhere to set pointless weapons on fire. And informing Arya that she should try to kill the night king. She's the most lethal assassin on earth, but she didn't think about that on her own.

- Why making the first move by sending the dothrakis in the dark by the way ?
If the deads don't move, you don't move either and you wait until the morning .

- Nobody is using dragons the right way. Even the night king should use his dragon to wipe out Winterfell and kill anyone in 5 minutes.

- Nobody having the idea of making some dragon glass arrows.
Shooting those arrows to the NK or the undead dragon would kill them in 2 seconds.

- Brann informing everyone at the last moment that night king wants him dead.

A smart move would have been to send Brann to King's Landing when they realized that Cercei screwed them.
You send Brann to King's Landing, the night king goes to King's Landing too and he does the job.

But of course the whole point of the show is now "which girl will sit on the iron throne at the end ?".
