Assuming Daenerys wins the war against the Lanisters....
What will happen to the 50,000 Dothraki in her army? they are warriors and pillagers I don't think they will suddenly settle down and go be farmers somewhere in Westeros.

shareCan she ship them back once they are not needed anymore? I think they'd also like to return home.

I'd imagine she will load them all up on boats and they'll sail back to Essos, some may stay and settle Westeros, it all depends on the White Walker factor--and how much territory they gobble up before being defeated--if at all.
shareHopefully most of them will go home to their sea or grass, Westeros doesn't seem to have much of the open steppes they like.
And it won't take them long to realize they'll have more freedom and more fun back in Essos, away from their moralistic, slavery -hating queen.
Agreed, once the fighting is over they should go back home to the open plains.
shareEven if they won againts the Lannisters, most of them will die slaughtered by the White Walkers. In short, the Dothraki will be extinct.
shareMore tragedy resulting from Daenerys short sighted egomania.
shareAt least something good will come out of it. The world will be better off without 'em.
shareDothraki are obviously based on Genghis Khan's Mongolians. They will have the same fate like Mongolians today.
shareGenghis's Mongols were conquerors and empire builders. Dothraki are more like pre-Islamic Arabs or the Europeans Northmen - raiders whose Gods sanction their murders, rape and pillaging. Worst cultures of all.
shareSome would return, some would stay. It was a Dothraki dream, to conquer the land across the sea.
shareAssuming that "winter is coming" I can't imagine they'd want any part of Westeros. Given they don't wear armor of any kind, I would guess they'll all be stationed on the other side of the sea.
shareMost will die fighting the White Walkers.
shareMy guess is that they will be given Dorne as a homeland where they can roam freely if they wish, or will be given a chance to return to Essos to resume their life there. No doubt there will be new rules for them to follow if they seek to obey their queen.
