Aaron Eckhart is extremely underrated here

I have noticed that Nicole Kidman has been nominated across the board, more or less, but so very little recognition for Eckhart who put on a great performance himself. Definitely overlooked and certainly underrated.

I entirely agree. Eckhart should have got a lot more recognition for his performance and not been over shadowed by Kidman who is great also I must add.

I think this is partly due to Kidman having a string of flop films or disappointing projects which did not turn out the way originally intended prior to Rabbit Hole being released. It felt to me that all focus was placed on Kidman as people remembered she could be great with the right material.

The film boasts impressive performances from all the major cast.

Came here to write the same thing-- the scene with the deleted video floored me.

That scene was incredible. And where he yanked the dog leash, then broke down crying on the dog. That broke my heart.

It broke my heart to hear that creep brag about going to a Compassionate Friends meeting and pretend to be a grieving parent and proud of the fact that the true grieving parents believed him and tried to soothe him. That's beyond vulgar. We are so heartbroken that we could never fathom that someone would come to a meeting to practice their act. Add in the fact that he was on Howard Stern laughing about doing that is sick and morbid.

I heard the Howard Stern interview and, as much as I love this movie, he is a pretentious idiot for doing that. Every other cast member (including the bit parts in the grieving group) delivered a terrific performance so it doesn't even have to do with being a good actor. It doesn't make you an eccentric genius or a committed actor to exploit others.

What are you talking about bluesdoctor? Oh was fantastic in this, she's an amazing actress!Haven't seen such a broad acting range in an actor in a long time. Eckhart was very decent too . People need to freaking lighten up and stop pretending they're so much better than anyone else..

reply

Disagree - I think the entire cast was pretty strong.

Cool.

Had this movie been released now, Miles Teller would've been nominated. Another underrated performance.

'it never occurred to me that skin could determine identity'

Not much talent at all in this film, stale faced, no expression, just terrible. I would love to know where you people got your standards for excellent acting?
