A neat idea for a BB "Encore/reunion" episode.

In the universe of BB, the exploits of Walter White would have been a huge, international story.

With the popularity of streaming, multi-episode docu-series, it is conceivable that Netflix or the like would commission a detailed series on Walter white and his short-lived meth empire.

How cool would it be if they were to make a mockumentary series set in-univerrse that catches up with characters from BB in a retrospective? we could get the perspective of the events from minor, but central characters and a follow-up of how they have been effected by the fallout from them in the years leading up to the present. Characters like Ted Benekie telling his side of the story, Jessie's parents trying to explain where he went wrong, Skyler explaining her current circumstances, Walt Jr., Marie, etc. Jailhouse interviews from characters who went down hard. There could be an addict or two explaining how their lives were effected by the flood of blue meth. Many different places you could go with it.

It'd be really cool to see how the Heisenberg incident effected the world of BB from a more macro and meso perspective and provide a meta-analysis of the events that the audience got to see first hand.

I think its an iterating idea that hasn't really been done before.

That's a very interesting idea. A lot of directions it could go. I don't know about a mini series, but more like a 2 hour movie.

All depends on if Vince Gilligan would want to do it, & frankly (as I've posted before) I don't think he's really interested in perpetually milking his baby for all it's worth ala.......The Walking Dead (God Forbid!!)

reply

He isn't? He made a Saul Goodman spinoff and a Jesse Pinkman sequel film already.

reply

Yes, but those are the only two we've gotten thus far. Nowhere EVEN near the level of perpetual milking we've gotten from TWD.

I'd like to think Vince Gilligan is clever enough (I mean he created BB for a start) to not perpetually milk this show and know when enough is enough. Better Call Saul works on its own right as a spin off show, and El Camino was decent and a good conclusion for Pinkman. There should be no more after that.

reply

Fair enough. He also pulled the plug on BB when he could've strung it out for another few seasons - given its popularity.

I kinda felt like El Camino was a bit unnecessary. It didn't really change Jesse's trajectory, it more just gave us slightly more. I shouldn't complain; more can be good and I liked El Camino.

Holy shit!! Did they steal my idea?!?

Kind of looks like they did!!

Realistically. I'm sure they already had something like this planned in advance to promote the final season. Should be interesting to see if we get anymore.
