Favorite season?

I for one can't choose, every season has it's perks.

The filmwork, drama, montages, etc. got stronger and stronger from Seasons 1 thru 4, peaking with the end of Fring. The intensity took a bit of a break in S5A, as new characters and stories were introduced, but built up again by the end and throughout S5B. So, expect many will choose S4 or S5 (specifically S5B).

But the question is favorite, not best...so I'm sticking with S2. The writers got 7 episodes under their belt (very good ones too) and S2 is where they could really start to develop them. Jesse was no longer a character that was to be killed off (original S1 plans). His character grew in S2...and he wasn't as dark as he was in later episodes, once Jane died. Walt's transformation in S1 & S2 was, IMO, more relatable to the average person (like a teacher), as he was not yet full blown Heisenberg. Throw in the start of Saul Goodman, along with a little Tuco, Jane, Mike & Gus...and you have a good start to what is further developed in later seasons.

Agree OP every season has it's perks.

Forced to choose though, I go for Season 4.

Gus Fring as the antagonist had started in Season 3, and went full blast in Season 4, culminating of course in Face Off.

Hard to choose between 4 and 5.

For me it was season 4. It was such a ride. However, Season 5 may be better overall. It's so hard to pick between the two, but season 4 still had Fring and I guess for nostalgic purposes I care about it more.
