First or second opening?

Which one is your favorite?

I personally can't decide, but since I skipped the first one 90% of the time, I'll have to go with the second one for some strange reason. And this is coming from someone who despises that music genre...

The first opening was better (main reason being it's more iconic to the series), but like the poster above me said the imagery in the second opening is awesome. But I like heavy metal anyway so I like both. I always thought the second opening sounded like System of a Down if they were Japanese, lol. Both closing songs are also great. Don't know which one I like better of those two. Depends on my mood. I actually think asking which closing song is better would've been a better question, haha.

Japanese SOAD, defenitily hahaha. My thoughts exactly.

I like the first opening and closing songs, and hate the second opening and closing songs. I don't understand why they had to change them. I wish they hadn't.

Yeah, not a fan of heavy metal or whatever the genre is called, I'm not familiar.

I never liked the first opening. But I got used to it after 19 episodes. But then - WHAT?! That was really weird, because out of nowhere there was a heavy metal rock song song with Ryuk dancing and running after an apple, and unusual stuff?! I choose the first opening.

First opening and closing songs anyday. Absolutely loved them! Heard both 3 times before moving onto the next episode.
The second opening and closing songs were rubbish. Don't know what it was, but it was pathetic. Skipped to the episode directly everytime.

I like the first song better, but considering the overall themes of Death Note, the second one fits better.

reply

First, but I do love Ryuk's apple dance in the second.

the second opening is *beep* garbage. some japanese slapnuts. total *beep* and crap like that is why people think metal sucks, because thats not metal. thats just *beep*

I kept skipping the 2nd opening because I could not stand it :(

Me too. I also felt that the second opening completely breaks with the feel of the show. It just... doesn't belong.
