Godzilla 2 two weeks before Jurassic World 2... thoughts?
Yup??
shareIt will probably move away from JW2.
Vulnerant omnes, ultima necat!
If the dates remain locked, I will be extremely happy as I am a huge fan of both franchises.
It's likely one will move farther away from the other though. It's too early to tell.
JURASSIC WORLD.
6.12.15.
Awesome
shareJurassic World 2? I dont understand, Jurassic World is a reboot?
shareIt's a sequel to Jurassic Park, but it's done in a way that doesn't really connect a lot to the original, giving them room to do more if they wanted. However...it's the third highest grossing movie of all time, making 10x its budget, and had the biggest opening weekend of all time - in fact, it was the first film to ever make $500 million in its opening weekend. There's no possible way they'd let this movie go without a sequel.
shareMy thoughts: extremely worried for Godzilla 2.
While both movies were relatively successful, and I loved both, it will, be no surprise if the mainstream audience will be more hyped for and save their money towards Jurassic World 2. The flaws of the first movie(Godzilla screentime+unlikable protagonist) had really left a sour taste in everyones' mouths. Thus, they will be wary to give the Godzilla sequel a watch if it means another "only 10 minutes of Godzilla and following a bland human character around again". On the other hand, Jurassic World has just recently become one of the highest grossing films of all time, and has garnered extremely positive reaction from the public. Undoubtedly, they will be leaning towards a Jurassic World sequel.
Unless Godzilla 2 knocks it out of the park and wins back the audience with major fixes to the flaws of the first movie, it wil easily be overshadowed by Jurassic World 2.
I'm anticipating Godzilla 2
shareThat would be an intense box office competition.

Isn't Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 coming out the same summer as well?
shareHonestly, I'm not too worried, as Godzilla 2 has two weeks to get it's budget worldwide, possibly longer with the movie opening before it does in America a few days earlier. If it came out two weeks after?
Then I'd be worried, as Jurassic World 2, if it makes the same as the first, would still be going strong for two weeks. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to move the movie a few weeks ahead.
But, hey! What do I know? I'm just a guy on the internet.
