6.5 Rating Now? Seriously?

What the heck is up with the rating system for this movie? It was bad enough that it was rated at a 6.6 on here a little while ago, and I come back here now, and the rating's dropped again to a 6.5? Come on people, this isn't a bad movie! And yet the users on this website has been giving this movie so much grief since its release last year! There are much worse movies out there! In fact, this was actually one of the better summer movies of last year! Give this movie a break...

I don't understand either man. I personally loved this movie I just could've used more GodZilla in it but other than I thought it was awesome. Godzilla looks bad ass in it and I can't wait for the next one. It sucks that it's a whole 3 years away. On another note I think alot of the low ratings is because some of the scenes in this movie are a little dark and it's hard to see but all you have to do is adjust the picture on your tv. I see everything fine on mine.

Dude, if you want to gripe about a movie's rating, write a review. The message boards are for discussing the movie, not the score. I really hate how every movie has a message board post complaining how the score is too high, or too low.

All this being said, I gave Godzilla a 5.0/10. The fighting scenes were way too dark. The plot made no sense. It's a bastardized, cash-grab of a great Godzilla franchise. And there are *FAR* too few monster scenes in the movie; you could easily cut 30 minutes out of this film.

You think I'm crazy? Perhaps we're all a little crazy. I know I am.

The score is a reflection of the movie, so this topic is just as valid as any other... If you hate posts like this, then put the creators on ignore, and you won't see them.

I don't care about the conclusion of this discussion, but that doesn't mean that people aren't entitled to have it... Anybody complaining about the rating in a review could just as easily be criticised for not saying more about what the film was like.

6.5 sounds about right for me. I was more disappointed that Godzilla (1998) only has a 5.3! I liked the earlier version better. Too much dead air in this one.

Personally I thought this movie was very intense and extremely well made, I'd give it at least a 7.5 if not a borderline 8, I don't understand at all why it's only getting a 6.5??

And I hope for a sequel just as good if not better, I just hope Gamera eventually gets as good a reboot.

I've seen this movie two times now and they were both long and tedious sessions of cinema. The last thing you want to do when watching any Godzilla movie is yawning and responding to meaningless whatsapp messages that hold more interest than this piece of S***.

It deserves to be lower for all the fanboys padding it up to a 9.0+ before the movie came out.

If Ari Gold saw Chappie he would say:
"Chappie makes Elysium look like Citizen ƒvcking Kane"

reply

Pretty much this.

Fanboys always think they're doing a movie a service by over-rating it before they've even see it.

But all it does is make regular viewers excited for nothing and expect too much, so when these people come back from seeing the movie, they want to set the record straight.

6.5 isn't that bad of a rating either, and probably about what it deserves, given that even the best movies ever made usually only reach the low eights...

Saw it on TV yesterday-utter dreck-was expecting much better than that-a complete waste of talented actors-can only assume Brian Cranston wanted out early on actually seeing the (and I use the term loosely) script.

This was easily the most disappointing movie of 3014 and one of the worst blockbusters of that year. I am still waiting too find one person in real life who liked it. I sure hope the sequel is way better but for sure I wont be going too see it on opening night again once bitten twice shy

To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script and the script -Alfred Hitchcock

6.5 is a good rating.

One of the best movies I've seen in years and the rate here is utterly ridiculous
