In 2007 was MySpace more popular than Facebook?

Looking back I find this movie to be a bit dated when some older guy was asking the two main characters if they've had MySpace, back when this movie was released I've yet had Facebook and still remember MySpace being a very popular site then.

It was part of the joke. The older guy who still thinks he's hip and talking about myspace as if thats what kids are still talking about. Myspace was no longer the wave by that point and facebook was more popular.

I still used MySpace a lot in 2007-08, by 2009 I started using Facebook a lot more and much prefer it to MySpace, I know the film was filmed in 2006 and released in 2007

The fact that you still used Myspace is meaningless. I still play N64 games. That doesn't make it "hip" or that people were asking for eachothers myspaces. And not sure where you got that it was filmed in 2006, what's your source? It doesn't take over 8 months to release a comedy after filmings done.

I looked up the filming dates on IMDB and they said it was filmed in the Fall of 2006, there are some movies that are released a year after filming, I didn't think Facebook became the thing until 2008.

Ok so its not that he was out of touch but like I said it was an old dude trying to still be hip. Asking for these teenagers myspace and stuff lol. Myspace was definitely still popular in those years.

Yes i got Facebook in 2007 but it was pretty niche.
I had myspace at first then hated how people had a song constantly playing on their profile. Very annoying. They could choose whichever colour text to use on whichever background they wanted, making some profiles hard to read too.

Facebook made everything uniform and won.

I had Facebook in '07 and various other socials that were geared to specific hobbies..

Facebook was fun because i could catch up with family and chat with old girl friends. Eventually it turned into a toxic female platform, there was way too much oversharing. I don't understand how people can post pictures of their children, schools, homes, and a detailed schedule. The site is Walmart for human traffickers.

Probably, I think Facebook was still up and coming in 07 or very much gaining on it, but MySpace was quite popular.
