Did anybody SERIOUSLY like this film?

Because I did. I thought the fast start into the apocalypse was awesome despite many people not thinking so. In the movie everything is hectic with trying to find a cure to something they have no knowledge about so I felt the quick start was good.

I like several parts and scenes... as a whole, it was Ok - fairly standard summer blockbuster stuff.

The last part felt like a different movie. It was good... but seemed disconnected, not associated with the rest.

I bet the movie, as a whole, would've been better received AND just better had they not changed it.

I know I enjoyed reading the original.

It was ok nothing special. But Brad Pitt as usual is awesome.

I love it. I haven't read the book, but I thought the movie was great. Quite a ride. I am glad that they chose not to include the part about Karin having an affair with one of the military guys; that would have brought the movie waaay down for me. It would not be realistic (yes, I know it is a zombie movie) to think that a woman who obviously loves her husband would cheat on him while he's off fighting zombies after just a few days' separation.
The movie had its flaws, but all in all, I really loved it. (enough to buy it)

It made $500 million, my first guess is yes.

reply

Don't be fooled. Movies like this make such money because they are strongly advertised and people go to watch them but only then they realize it was a waste of money.

reply

This movie should have been a disaster, but ended up getting decent reviews.

reply

And the good reviews were why I watched it. Wow, were the reviewers watching the same movie? This was awful.

I liked it more in the beggining but then I read the book and I realized that it was a huge missed opportunity

if it had a different title i wouldn't be as disapointed. the book was amazing and the audiobook is the closest we ll get to a movie adaption. (the book is read as interviews of different people around the globe and everyone is played by a different person)as for the movie by itself. yeah there were some decent scenes in there but like someone said before, it was a missed opportunity

It was decent. The last 45 minutes was kinda dumb though. All of it felt so out of place.

The only similarities between the movie and the book were:
1. There were zombies.
2. The title.

That's it. So after reading the book, this movie was not what I was expecting. As I said, I still enjoyed it, but it could have been a LOT better, IMO.

Leave me be.

No. Nobody seriously liked this movie.

You ask me that Brad Pitt character was some kind of Gilligan, getting everyone killed wherever he went. Israel had a huge wall all nice and set up, Brad shows up and wham! Just sayin.
