I don't know how I sat through this mess of a movie. It was absolutely absurd.

sharethis movie is really bad. an incredibly shmaltzy and hollywoodified attempt at making an arthouse sci-fi. the screenplay sucks, is full of so many stupid moments. it's directed in a way that thinks its audience is stupid, has to show everything, but children think it's intellectual because of the droning music, the long run time, etc. it's diet 2001, Solaris lite, Blade Runner zero sugar, made for people who haven't seen a truly smart sci-fi yet. I highly recommend the original Solaris because it's basically Interstellar but good.

And to be a diet version...it needs to be attempting to be lighter version of the original. Interstellar isn't like any of those movies.
it definitely is attempting to be as smart and profound, but it fails desperately by being too hamfisted

also, i highly recommend arrival 2016, it does the space/time stuff infinitely better than interstellar does, as in it actually understands what it means

shareLOL I never said i didnt "get" the movie. i get it quite well. but just because a movie is telling me something is supposed to be deep and powerful doesn't mean it actually is.
