yesterday i watched the movie with my mother and we have a little "discussion": i say that mr. whit (colin) goes with larita in a romantic way, my mother says he just leaves the family but no flirt with larita.
what do you think? :S

I liked that it was left open and it in a way even they wouldn't know at that moment.
They definetely were kindred spirits but they both had just broken up their respective marriages. So it is up for interpretation. .

I think they left it up to the viewers to decide. In my opinion yes, they did end up together.
At the beginning of the film there was dialogue along the lines of:
JIM: I like her.
VERONICA:Yes, Jim we all know what you like.
He opened up to her and told her things he wouldn't dare tell the family. He defended her. He gave her a chance.
Then there was the tango.
Even though, I do think he used this as an excuse to leave, I think they ended up with each other. Other then Furber, Jim was her only friend in the house.
