Taggart - why not get an aussie actor?
Honestly - if Meryl Streep could not pull off an aussie accent what American can? While the actor does a far more credible job than any of the fake Aussies in Lost, it's still not that convincing. Sorry.
share'Cause the creators of American TV shows often like to mock us by getting actors to put on fake accents that don't sound anything like us and are more similar to the accent Paul Hogan had in Crocodile Dundee. If you watch some of our latest TV shows like Offspring, 800 Words, Love Child and Secret City you will see that.
