I normally don't like the sight of him, but he's brilliant in this movie. That damn hip shaking is GENIUS. Especially in the final concert. His one liners are great and the scene at the theme park is hilarious. I would never have believed he could actually be funny...
I loved this movie which I've kind of avoided for a few years because I've never thought Drew Barrymore was much of a comedienne (and indeed she's not funny in this movie although her role really isn't written with humor). But this definately the best Hugh Grant romantic comedy in ages and it was wonderful to see him in top form (in both senses of the word)!
I have to agree with you on a couple of things. I am not a Hugh Grant fan, but he was great in this. There are about three dozen other actresses who could have played Drew Barrymore's part (since there was not much for her to do) so she was just walking through it. I thought the songs were great and the ending credits were fantastic!
would anybody agree with me if i said that drew and hugh together are like matthew and kate together? they should do many movies together and the movies are guaranteed winners? and they have such great chemistry together.... or am i the only person who feels this way? ps~would LOVE to see hugh in the more great movies! he's in 2 (or 3, depending how you look at it) of my fave movies, M&L and both bridget jones.
