Dane has slightly large and ungainly facial features, and when combined with that hair her face didn't match at all. Looked like a bad wig, and unnatural. I was a bit disappointed. Expected more from a 'star'. The Victoria character was a lot more naturally beautiful. Dane does have that doe-eye look though, which conveyed the star's purity and innocence, so I'll give her credit for that.
shareI agree. She's not a conventional beauty and is oddly without eyebrows. Her acting talent exceeds most however and her ability to emote and be vulnerable is first class, but as an ageless, ethereal beauty, I think not. Michelle Pfeiffer and Sienna Miller massively outshine her (pardon the pun)

Personally I thought she was excellent and perfect for the role. Every time I see this I am amazed that she is not English, her accent was that good (and I am English myself, and can usually spot a fake a mile off).
Same, I think she was PERFECT for the role (and yes I have read the book too). Same with the accent, it was very convincing as english and again im english and usually American actors cant pull it off at all, but she genuinely sounded English.
Also I think the fact shes not your typical hollywood beauty is good because shes playing a star, surely she should be slightly weird looking? (although I do think shes very beautiful just not in a typical conventional way.)
i agree with you IMDbeans, i think Clare is great but Sienna is just better. And i also think Ben Barnes was better for the role than Charlie Cox, anyway, great performances everyone.
