More movies like this one???
I just finished watching this little masterpiece and I'm dying to find another one that at least comes close. Any recommendations, anyone?

Thks for answering. I watched Pan's Labyrinth a few days ago and being South-American I was able to enjoy the film in the original Spanish. Preety good -though a little bloody in my opinion considering it's a fantasy film.
Jay and Silent Bob... well, not sure this Smith's film fits exactly into what I'm looking for but honestly I watched the film a while ago so I don't really remember it that well.
I'll give Labyrinth and Time Bandits a try... that is if I can find them.
Cheers!

The Golden Compass is great, but it's not complete though. You should read the books, they're good(the 3rd one is kind of a let-down, but still good).
Narnia series is good too, but it maybe too childish to you.
Ella Enchanted, but it's not as serious as Stardust.
Stardust is so well done that hardly any other movies can compare. :(

You just can't win with these people!
I finished The Golden Compass trilogy a couple of weeks ago. You are right. The third book is quite a let down. And no, I don't think the Narnia series are too childish for me. Maybe is because the first two films were so well directed. I also read the books, all seven of them. I'll give Ella Enchanted a try.
Thanks.
I think this movie is one of a kind overall, it blended a variety of genres well. It can't be compared to so far.
shareI agree that Princess Bride comes closest.
You might check out Willow too. It's one of the few good fantasy movies I know.
Then there's Ladyhawke and Dragonslayer(1981). Kull is not to everyone's taste but quite funny too.
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
shareNO WAY!!! It's a decent film, I admit it, but comparing it to Stardust is something else. They're not even in the same league. Thks for the suggestion though.
shareWell, there is the old movies Willow and Legend.
They also take place in kind of the same time in history, has magical and mythological beings in them and naturally also a love story.
So here's basically a list of my favorite movies (which would include Stardust). They aren't exactly like Stardust but they all do have that magical, fairy-tale, epic love story feel to it.
Camille. This is perhaps the most like Stardust, except the setting is contemporary. But there's supernatural elements, 2 people traveling together and love.
Ella Enchanted.
Penelope. Another amazing fairytale-esque love story that has been over looked.
Ever After.
I suggest looking up each trailer and seeing if you're interested. If you do watch any, I'd love to know how they compare/what you think.
'Legend' is another great fairy tale. And, for a darker movie, 'Company of Wolves' is delightful. Both are very authentic looking, too.
'That's not a hairstyle, it's a cry for help!'
I'd give them a try. Might take a few months. My watchlist is huge and vacations are almost over. Back to work next month :(
shareThe first two Shrek movies, maybe?
Ladyhawke is a sweet fantasy/romance if you can get past the absolutely abysmal sytho-crap soundtrack. Michelle Pfeiffer is in it too.
Mask of Zorro – More swashbuckling than romance. I think it’s one of the best action movies of the 90’s.
The 10th kingdom (mini series)
Also a great fantasy serie. Sometimes it feels like it's for little kids, but overall it's a very memorable serie
Willow
Legend
Labrynth
Princess Bride
Inkheart
Ladyhawke
Time Bandits
Krull
This are my fave fantasy films and not too dissimilar to Stardust
"Can people handle the truth"
Big Fish http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0319061/
shareAs other posters have suggested The Princess Bride( my favorite romance fantasy) comes close to Stardust( top 3 favorite)
