Lighting

I've left plenty of comments on IMDb for the actors, script, etc. But for Norbit, and for the first time, I have to say something about the lighting in this movie. It was especially obvious (not in a bad way) in some close-up shots of Thandie Newton. I just realized that the ones that really caught my attention were both wedding scenes - when she was at the church to marry Cuba Gooding, Jr. and later when she married Norbit.

The lighting on her face was incredible. It reminded me of a Yosuf Karsh portrait, but actually even better. I will study those scenes to break down how it was done and try my best to implement it at some time.

As I said, I've never commented about the lighting in a movie before, but whoever was responsible for lighting those scenes definitely deserves credit for a job well done.

Oh, and Thandie looked especially beautiful in those scenes, too.
