I can't believe this film only has a 3.6 rating. Granted it isn't the most original film ever but I think too many people on IMDB are rating this film on the basis that it is trying to be a cinematic classic. It's trying to be a light hearted immature humour film that you can and easily watch with your friends while having a few beers and for me it works really well at doing this. I gave it an 8.

i like the movie. some people like corny, stupid, horrible things. i am one of those people. this movie didnt trick you into watching it. you knew from the trailer it was going to be stupid. it didnt try to be intellectual or make you think or teach you something or make you cry. it made me laugh
insulting people who like the movie says more about yourself than the people who enjoyed it
Just watched this again. It's been a while since I first saw it and pretty much forgot the whole thing. Eddie Murphy did and amazing job.
shareI would say its a solid 5.... its not bad, but its just Murphy trying to squeeze the last drops out of the nutty professor series (I always viewed it as a more adult orientated version of that).

A lot of people like this movie, me and my co-worker was just talking about this movie. We was laughing at scenes we thought was funny, Norbit really does deserve a higher rating.
shareMy biggest problem with it? Fat woman = disgusting/undesirable. Regardless of where you stand on sexual preferences or health or whatever, the consensus in Hollywood and pretty much everywhere else tells us if you are fat AND a woman, you're nasty. Seriously, it's already been said, male comedians and whomever can be old and/or fat and still get gorgeous, young, thin women. But women? Pretty much, they must be young and slim. It's old. It's done. We get it. Slim is the only appealing woman out there. Thanks for making a whole movie to show that the annoying, loud mouthed b**** is sooooo FAT! Ewwwww! How Funny! She's just so fat!

I don't understand why IMDB gives such low or very ratings to the comedies. It does not make any sense. It is so not not only for this comedy film but also many comedy films. Some will say : '' Not IMDB but many people all over the world creates that rating . ''
I do not exactly believe in this. OK , many people all over the world have voted for films in IMDB. But including this film , most comedies in IMDB has low or very low rating that they do not deserve. Something strange has been going on.
