wow you are so so wrong. persia wasn the PERFECT empire.. but it was one of the MOST peaceful empires of all time.
Cyrus the great created the human rights cylinder.
Everyone under persian rule had freedom of religion, freedom of speech etc..
After invading babylon and freeing the jews from slavery, cyrus the great even kneeled before the baylonian pagan gods to show RESPECT. he himself was a monothiestic (zoroastrian).
you should watch some documantaries about the persian empire.
Women in the persian empire where more respected than women from any other nation, our navy general was a women. she let the entire persian navy.
We even had a day called "spandarmazgan" day of love and friendship.

How can you bring MODERN Persia into the equation?? you mention stoning, this is happening NOW what does it have to do with the Sassanid empire?
(which was the HEART of world culture at that time period)
After islam was impossed on persia we have not done so well, but still even post-islamic persia has accomplished alot, look at persian poetry its the most beautiful poetry you can get, saadi's poetry is on the wall of the united nations. look at Hafez and Rumi they are one of the worlds greatest poets.
Look at Persian caligraphy and paintings,look at persian mosques in esfahan.
If you think that Persians where violent and just barbaricly invaded countries then i suggest you look at the Mongolian empire or perhaps how the Arabs enforced islam on the world..

just two critiques: xerxes' invasion of Greece was actually in 480BCE, not 500.
And most of what you described was the Achaemenid Empire, not Sassanid.
